Rollie

Rollie, an eleven-year-old Lab mix, rolled right into the Surry County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on April 24th with Sassy, an eight-year-old Lab mix, when their prior owner said that they could no longer care for the dogs. Being of a certain age, both of these sweet sisters needed senior vetting that would allow them to be in tip-top shape. But unlike Sassy, Rollie was heartworm positive, which put her at even greater risk.

On May 1st, Mayberry 4 Paws, an organization that helps facilitate and find rescues for at-risk dogs at the Surry County shelter, reached out to RADAR for help with both Rollie and Sassy. If we could assist with some of their health care costs, Mayberry 4 Paws could pull both Golden Girls out of the shelter and find a permanent rescue for them. Unable to resist the charm of this dynamic duo, we agreed to assist, and they were both safe! Rollie got her heartworm treatment on May 23rd.

Folks at Mayberry 4 Paws told us that Rollie and Sassy are both friendly and lovable gals who have never met a stranger. Despite their age, these two are inquisitive and lively, and they very much enjoy getting good exercise and playing outside. To see more photos of Rollie, click here.

RADAR paid all $560 of the heartworm treatment costs for Rollie.
