You’d have to be under anesthesia not to like Anastasia! This approximately five-year-old Collie mix arrived as a stray on June 10th at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. As beautifully stunning as Anastasia is, she had no luck getting adopted or taken by a rescue. It didn’t help that she was heartworm positive. With Anastasia’s time running out, a rescue was urgently needed to take her.
Through the diligent efforts of the Darlington County Humane Society volunteers, Almost Home Dog Rescue in Pennsylvania stepped up to take Anastasia! But they would need to have her heartworm treatment costs covered. RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society volunteers, Susan Blakeney, requested our assistance. How could we not help? So Anastasia was now truly safe.
On July 18th, Anastasia received her heartworm treatment. Susan told us this about Anastasia: “She’s super friendly and great with other dogs. Anastasia is perfectly mannered with a low-key personality and energy level. She’s just as sweet and gentle and appealing as can be!” To view more photos of Anastasia, click here.
RADAR paid all of Anastasia’s heartworm treatment costs of $261.
