Angel was in need of her own guardian angel. Luckily for her, she had a host of guardian angels come to her rescue to get her into a rescue! A five- to seven-year old Bully Breed mix, Angel was turned over to animal control as an owner surrender and taken to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on August 9th. Despite her polite and gentle temperament, Angel had no rescue or adopter interest for nearly three months. Testing heartworm positive only made matters worse.
At last on November 2nd, Caring for Creatures in Virginia offered to take Angel. But they could only do so if her vetting costs, spaying, and heartworm treatment costs could be covered. Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, turned to us to see if we could assist. We agreed, enabling Angel to get her rescue wings! She had her initial vetting and spaying done on August 29th, and received her heartworm treatment on November 6th.
“Docile and mild-mannered!” is how Angel was described to us. “This sweet little two-toned lady quietly goes about her business in a calm, respectful way. She is a very appealing, approachable lady with her grand smile and welcoming body language. Kids of most ages and all dogs are sure to find her to be the perfect, happy-faced furry companion. Angel smiles a lot, snuggles a lot and simply enjoys life!” Click here to view more photos of Angel.
RADAR paid all of Angel’s vetting, spaying and heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $443.
