Annie Get Your Gun? It was more like Annie get a rescue! On March 10th this one to two-year-old Labrador Retriever mix and her nine puppies were surrendered to the Clarendon County Animal Control shelter in South Carolina. A rescue was interested in taking Annie and all of her nine pups, but when she tested heartworm positive the rescue backed out, putting the entire family at risk.

On March 14th RADAR was asked to assist with Annie. We provided an offer to help with heartworm treatment as an incentive for a rescue to take her. A few days later Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in North Carolina agreed to take Annie and her entire family. Annie received her heartworm treatments on June 11th and July 21st and 22nd.

The folks at Brother Wolf Animal Rescue told us this about Annie: “She is a shy girl but given enough time will learn to trust people as individuals. She is very sweet and grateful to have a second chance at finding a forever home and to be on the road to good health.” Click here to view more photos of Annie.

RADAR paid all $250 towards Annie’s heartworm treatment costs.
