Aspen

Perhaps like the trembling leaves of the quaking aspen tree, this Aspen got his name because he was shaking like a leaf when he arrived at the shelter. Approximately one year old and a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, Aspen arrived as a stray on December 15th at the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission (JARM) shelter in Jasper County, South Carolina. Sadly, no one reclaimed Aspen. And, after testing heartworm positive, he had no rescue or adoption interest.

On March 29th, Erin Padgitt with One Love Animal Rescue in Georgia had a very special request for RADAR. Aspen was one of seven heartworm positive dogs at JARM that the rescue was interested in taking if they could get help with the cost of their heartworm treatment. Counting on our loyal supporters, we agreed! Aspen had his heartworm treatment done on April 25th.

“Aspen is a big lovable dog!” Erin told us. “He really enjoys being around people and getting lots of attention. Aspen is working on his training and loves to please. He is good with children but is still learning to be gentle with small kids. ‎Aspen also likes to roughhouse with other dogs.” Click here to view more photos of Aspen.

RADAR paid all of Aspen’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $218.
