Hi there! My name is Ballard, and I want to share my story with you. I’m about seven years old and a Hound mix. I was found as a stray on July 21st and ended up in the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina. The folks there could tell from my many scars, both old and new, that I had many skin issues. My teeth were not in good shape either. Even worse, I found out I had heartworms. Yuck!
Luckily for me, on July 26th, Gretchen Kozen, a kind lady who helps save dogs at this shelter, asked to get me on the RADAR (so to speak!) so that I could get some funding help with the cost of my heartworm treatment. RADAR agreed to do just that At almost the same exact time, Ruby’s Misfits Animal Rescue in North Carolina contact RADAR about helping them with Ballard’s treatment costs! With two requests to save me, RADAR had to say “yes!” I got my heartworm treatment done on August 10th and 11th.
My foster mom says I am the biggest cuddle bug and I have the most handsome smile ever! I think I am a lap dog, so if you are driving and stop the car, don’t be surprised if I try to climb in your lap! I love spending time outside smelling all the bugs and rabbits that travel through the yard! I’m very shy at first and I can get stressed out easily, but I’m very excited to find my forever home. I really hope I have a friend to play with! My foster brother and I love running around the yard together! To see more photos of me, just click here!
RADAR paid $250 towards the heartworm treatment costs for Ballard.
