This Bella comes with a fella! Bella and her sibling, Achilles, are a pair of nine-year-old Weimaraners taken in by the rescue group STAR (Saving The Animals of Rowan) in Morehead, Kentucky, on April 20th. When their owner lost his house to foreclosure, a friend took the dogs temporarily and kept them mostly outside. When the temporary caretaker faced the choice of offering the dogs for free on the internet or taking them to the Rowan County Animal Shelter, STAR stepped in not only to save these two, but to make sure they stay together.
STAR needed to get the dogs vetted, tested and evaluated so that they could reach out to Weimaraner rescues to take the pair. Although Bella was already spayed, she had a tumor that need to be removed and diagnosed, as well as get an overall checkup and dental care. RADAR agreed to STAR’s request for our assistance for Bella and Achilles. The dogs received their vet care the week of April 29th as part of STAR’s wonderful partnership with the Morehead State University Veterinary Technician Program. Bella’s tumor was successfully removed and found not to be malignant. She also tested negative for heartworm. Click here for more photos of Bella.
RADAR paid Bella’s bill of $65 for all of her vetting costs, including the tumor removal and dental care.
