When Bella’s owner went to prison, she was given to someone who already had four dogs. On September 27th, all five dogs were seized by animal control after being abandoned without food or water. Despite their dire circumstances all of the dogs had delightful and friendly personalities. Bella, a two-year-old Bully Breed mix, was the only one who was heartworm positive.

On October 30th, Kristin Baksa, the shelter’s rescue coordinator, sought RADAR’s help for Bella. Heartworm treatment would be the ticket Bella needed to be rescued or adopted and get on with the good life she deserves. We agreed to assist, and on November 28th Bella had her heartworm treatment done.

“Bella is great with other dogs, kids, cats, you name it!” Kristin said. “She is calm but playful. Bella is house trained. She has been very affectionate with volunteers and likes to cuddle. She is a real lovebug!” To see more photos of Bella, click here.

RADAR paid $250 towards the heartworm treatment costs for Bella.
