There’s nothing bellicose about Bella! But this delightful three-year-old Bully Breed mix has quite the story. Bella was found as a pregnant stray. The person who found her decided to keep her. However, she surrendered her puppies to the Blount County Animal Center in Tennessee after they were weaned. Bella was also brought to the shelter to be spayed. Unfortunately, Bella tested heartworm positive. After some soul searching, the owner decided she could not afford the treatment and subsequent vet care necessary, so she surrendered Bella to the shelter on September 15th.

Kristin Baksa, the shelter’s rescue coordinator, asked for our help with Bella’s heartworm treatment costs on September 25th. This would better enable her to be adopted or get a rescue commitment. We agreed to assist, and Bella had her heartworm treatment done on September 26th.

“Bella’s a friendly little girl,” Kristin told us, “who is ready to move on with her life without puppies and heartworms!” To see more photos of Bella, click here.

RADAR paid $250 towards Bella’s heartworm treatment costs.
