Black Jack

Presenting Black Jack: the dog, the problem and the solution.

The dog. Black Jack is a two- to three-year-old Lab mix. He is described as being Mr. Congeniality! With his broad grin, steady wagging tail and slightly wavy sleek black jacket, it’s hard not to be drawn to this happy-faced fellow! Softly huggable and affectionate, Black Jack is your go-to fellow if you are looking for a family-oriented canine companion. To see more photos of Black Jack, click here.

The problem. Black Jack was found as a stray on August 30th and taken to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. Not only was he extremely thin, but he also tested positive for heartworms. On October 21st, Peppertree Rescue in New York expressed interest in taking Black Jack. There was just one caveat: the cost of his heartworm treatment.

The Solution. RADAR to the rescue! Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, immediately sought our assistance. We agreed at once to seal the deal! He had his heartworm treatment done on October 23rd.

RADAR paid all $255 of the heartworm treatment costs for Black Jack.
