Bobo doesn’t let anything bring him down! A two-year-old Boxer mix, this sweet guy had to be rushed to the emergency vet after being found caught in a trap at a garage; he had several deep wounds. From what they could tell, it looked like Bobo had been attacked by a group of dogs or possibly coyotes. He was taken to the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue in South Carolina on January 30th. Thankfully, he made a full recovery and got up to a healthy weight, but there was still one thing holding him back from starting his new life: he was heartworm positive.
One Life to Live Rescue and Adoption in Pennsylvania wanted to pull Bobo from the shelter, provided that his heartworm treatment was taken care of first. Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, reached out to RADAR to see if we could help. We agreed to assist, and he got his treatment on April 17th!
Bobo has been described as friendly, happy and affectionate, and he loves people and car rides! He gets along well with everyone–including children, cats and dogs. We were told this about Bobo from his time at the shelter: “He’s been through a lot having been attacked by a group of dogs or coyotes, but yet, he still wakes up with a big grin on his face and wiggling rear!” To see more photos of Bobo, click here.
RADAR paid all $305 of the heartworm treatment costs for Bobo.
UPDATE! All funds for Bobo have been raised! Thank you!
