Maybe “My Bonnie lies over the ocean,” but this Bonnie lives on thanks to thee, RADAR supporters! One to two years old and a Hound mix, Bonnie arrived as a stray at the Clarendon County Animal Control shelter in South Carolina on June 10th. With this rural shelter overcrowded, Bonnie would be euthanized on June 17th if she wasn’t rescued or adopted. The clock was ticking.
Kathie Weinberg of Home Sweet Home Animal Rescue in New Jersey found out about Bonnie on the morning of June 16th. With Bonnie’s heartworm status unknown, Kathie requested the test be done immediately at her expense. By early afternoon the results were known, and not good: Bonnie tested heartworm positive. The only way Kathie’s rescue could afford to take Bonnie would be if help could be found for the heartworm treatment costs. RADAR to the rescue! Kathie asked for our help and we agreed to assist, which sealed the deal for Bonnie! She received her heartworm treatment on June 26th.
“Bonnie is a sweet young lass,” Kathie told us. “She is getting acclimated to living indoors after spending most of her life outside. She seeks the affection of her foster mom and is just an all around great girl. She is looking forward to a long and happy life with her very own forever family.” To see more photos of Bonnie, click here.
RADAR paid $265 towards Bonnie’s heartworm treatment costs.
