If you take a quick look at Boo, that could be called a peek-a-Boo! Three years old and a Bully Breed mix, Boo was found as a stray on September 20th. She was taken to the Aiken County Animal Shelter in South Carolina. Not surprisingly, Boo tested heartworm positive. This shelter does not allow heartworm positive dogs to be adopted. Her only way out of the shelter alive would require a rescue commitment.

Mary Lou Seymour with the The Heart Beat Goes On program knew she had to do more than say boo to save Boo. On October 15th, Mary Lou began her quest to find a rescue for Boo. But with no luck and time running out, on October 24th, Shelter Animals Advocates, the parent organization of The Heart Beat Goes On, decided to take Boo if RADAR could help with her heartworm treatment costs. We agreed and Boo was safe!

Boo received her heartworm treatment on October 26th. December Clark, Mary Lou’s partner with The Heart Beat Goes On, told us this about Boo: “She is gorgeous and has a great personality! She approaches in a friendly manner. She has lots of energy, but is relaxed.” To see more photos of Boo, click here.

RADAR paid $300 towards the heartworm treatment costs for Boo.
