No, this dog is not Boss Hogg, but more like Boss Dogg! And instead of an episode of Dukes of Hazard, this is the story of a dog in danger. Boss, a four-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, arrived at the Halifax County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on March 16th. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owner because the owner had to go to an assisted living facility.

On March 25th Rainbow Animal Rescue in North Carolina, which works with rescues to help save the animals at the Halifax shelter, asked for RADAR’s help. A rescue was interested in taking Boss, but needed financial assistance. We agreed to help. Unfortunately, the rescue did not follow through. Through Rainbow Animal Rescue, Boss had his initial vetting and neutering done on April 22nd.

After many weeks in limbo, Boss was finally taken by the Lab Rescue of the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac in Virginia, where he was quickly adopted. Boss was described to us as a very sweet and loving dog. Click here to view more photos of Boss.

RADAR paid all $159 of the initial vetting and neutering costs for Boss.

UPDATE! Boss has been adopted!
