If you’re wondering how the wonderful Brianna ended up at the shelter, wonder no more: she was found wandering! Luckily a kind soul found this beautiful two-year-old Plott Hound mix on July 24th and took her to the Blount County Animal Center in Tennessee. To no one’s surprise, she was heartworm positive.

On August 2nd, RADAR’s liaison at the shelter, Kristin Baksa, requested our assistance for Brianna. “While Brianna is lucky to now have a warm bed and plenty of food in her foster home,” Kristin told us, “she needs heartworm treatment so that she can find a new family that will love her forever!” We agreed to help. She had her treatment done on August 21st.

“Brianna’s a petite and friendly Hound who loves her walks and attention from our volunteers,” Kristin said. “She has a look that asks ‘Why am I here?’ My guess is that she was abandoned because she wasn’t a good hunter. This happens frequently in our county.” Click here to view more photos of Brianna.

RADAR paid all of Brianna’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $292.
