Brody

This remake of “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” is more like “Brody Waggy Beagle Boy!” It was on June 10th when Brody, a two-year-old Beagle mix arrived as a stray at the Sampson County Animal Shelter in North Carolina. The combination of Brody being both a Hound and heartworm positive put his life at risk at this rural kill shelter.

On July 22nd, a volunteer with Sampson County Friends for Animals asked RADAR to assist with Brody. Crate Escape, a small family-run rescue in New York that specializes in rescuing dogs from North Carolina who are in need of medical treatment and forever homes, was interested in taking Brody. However, the rescue needed financial assistance for Brody. We agreed to help. Brody was neutered on July 29th, and received his heartworm treatment on July 30th.

Heather Pensabene of Crate Escape shared this with us about Brody: “Although he is a bit shy at first, he is a complete love bug once he settles in. Brody is wonderful with children and likes to hang out with his dog friend too. The more Brody becomes accustomed to life out of the shelter the more his happy-go-lucky Hound personality shines. He will make a great addition to any hound loving family.” Click here to view more photos of Brody.

RADAR paid $250 towards the heartworm treatment and neutering costs for Brody.
