Bruno is no brute! In fact, he is described as a very sweet fellow. This three-year-old Bully Breed mix was surrendered to the Surry County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on July 31st. We were told that Bruno’s owner had gotten him from someone who promised to get the new owner an outdoor kennel pen, but failed to follow through on the promise. So Bruno was kept locked up in the basement, got bored, did some ‘redecorating’ and was sent off to the shelter. Unfortunately, the shelter was full and Bruno tested heartworm positive.
On August 1st, Mayberry 4 Paws in North Carolina, an organization that helps facilitate and find rescues for the at-risk dogs at this shelter, asked RADAR for assistance with Bruno. As an incentive for a rescue to take Bruno, we provided an offer to assist with his heartworm treatment costs. With no rescue coming forward and Bruno’s time running out, Mayberry 4 Paws decided to take him. With RADAR’s help, he had his heartworm treatment done on August 30th.
“This very handsome guy loves to be with you but not in your face,” Mayberry 4 Paws told us about Bruno. He gets along well with other dogs and people. He is not real high energy. He enjoys walks. Weighing in at only 32 pounds, he’s fairly compact.” To see more photos of Bruno, click here.
RADAR paid all $263 of the heartworm treatment costs for Bruno.
