Oh Canada, eh? This is the story of how the homeless Buddy in North Carolina found his forever home in Canada! Buddy, a seven-year-old Bully Breed mix, was taken to the Surry County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on May 19th. The kind woman who found Buddy wandering as a stray cared for him for a few months while trying to find his owner. Having no luck, and unable to keep Buddy, she surrendered him to the shelter.
On May 20th, Mayberry 4 Paws in North Carolina, an organization that helps facilitate and find rescues for at-risk dogs at the very rural Surry County shelter, requested our help for Buddy. The shelter was overflowing, and Buddy’s life was at risk. Mayberry 4 Paws would pull Buddy if we would assist with his vetting costs. We agreed and Buddy was safe!
In early June came the good news that the Niagara Falls Humane Society in Canada would take Buddy. On June 14th he received his initial vetting and was neutered. Two days later Buddy was on his way to Canada. In no time at all, Buddy was adopted! We were told that Buddy is a happy-go-lucky boy, who loves attention and enjoys playing with his toys. RADAR paid all of Buddy’s initial vetting and neutering costs, totaling $126.
