They say everything is better with butter, and this one-and-a-half-year-old Lab mix is here to prove that everything is better with Butters! This sweet boy ended up at the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS) shelter in Bamberg County, South Carolina, on August 28th. Prior to that, Butters spent a month in Hampton County Animal Shelter in South Carolina with no luck in finding a rescue or adopter. Why, you ask? It’s likely because he tested positive for heartworms.
Ruthie Rish with MAMAS reached out to RADAR on September 17th to see if we could help with Butters. Laura’s Hope Rescue in Pennsylvania was interested in pulling him from the shelter, provided that his heartworm treatment was taken care of. We agreed to assist, and he was safe! He got his treatment on September 18th.
“He is highly adoptable, and I knew I could help him,” Ruthie told us about Butters. “He’s a sweetheart and is sharing a kennel space with Seamus, another male, so he gets along great with everybody.” His rescue shared that “Butters is a very happy dog… great personality, super smart and willing to learn. He gets along with everyone here including the cat!” To see more photos of Butters, click here.
RADAR paid all $315 of the heartworm treatment costs for Butters.
