It’s Cayenne the canine! She is a three-year-old Boxer who arrived on August 24th as a stray at the Columbus County Animal Shelter in North Carolina. As is all too typical, Cayenne tested heartworm positive, reducing her chances of finding a rescue or adopter.

On August 28th, shelter advocate Madi Joselyn sought RADAR’s grant assistance for Cayenne’s heartworm treatment costs. If we could help, the Burlington County Animal Alliance in New Jersey would take her. We agreed, and Cayenne was safe! She received her treatment on October 3rd.

“Cayenne is super sweet and loves to play with her foster brother,” we were told. “She was definitely a scared girl when we got her, pretty much a pancake, but is coming around really well!  She is the typical wiggle butt Boxer!” To see more photos of Cayenne, click here.

RADAR paid all $256 of the heartworm treatment costs for Cayenne.

UPDATE! All funds for Cayenne have been raised! Thank you!
