His name indicates just what Chance needed and just what Chance got: a chance! About eight years old, this Pit Bull Terrier-Labrador Retriever mix was surrendered by his owners to the Jasper County Animal Shelter in Indiana on December 1st. This was the second time Chance ended up at the shelter (where he was known as Chase). He had recently been adopted, but was returned because the family said he wasn’t good with their child. When the shelter staff tested Chance with children, he did just fine! The combination of Chance being a Pit Bull mix and his age, put him at great risk.

On January 29th, the shelter took in 14 dogs, but this small, rural shelter only has nine kennels. When the folks at Fetch Wisconsin Rescue in Wisconsin found out about this situation, the same day they contacted RADAR to see if we could assist. We agreed at once.

Chance was safely out of the shelter on January 31st, and went into a temporary foster home. Chance had his initial vetting done on February 10th. Click here to view more photos of Chance.

RADAR paid all $143 for Chance’s initial vetting costs.
