Even though she will steal your heart, Charlotte is no charlatan! Two to three years old, this Black Lab was a stray who ended up in someone’s yard, but he could not keep her, so she was taken to the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS) shelter in Bamberg County in South Carolina on November 14th. She was a perfect candidate for rescue or adoption, other than having heartworms and being a black dog.

Ruthie Rish with MAMAS contacted RADAR about Charlotte on November 26th. Lovable Mutts Adoption Center (formerly the Pregnant Dog and All Breed Rescue) in Pennsylvania was interested in taking her if her heartworm treatment could be done first. We agreed and she received her heartworm treatment on November 29th.

“Charlotte is just another great dog in need of a great home!” the rescue reported. “She is as good of a dog as you could ask for. She likes everyone she meets and is good with other dogs. Charlotte is well-mannered and just a really nice girl. She will steal your heart for sure!” To see more photos of Charlotte, click here.

RADAR paid all $285 of the heartworm treatment costs for Charlotte.
