Charming Chaz has pizzaz and razzmatazz! This five to six-year-old Australian Shepherd mix was taken to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina by animal control on June 10th. Chaz faced two challenges: he was heartworm positive and he’s a bit older. As the weeks passed, and without any rescue interest, Chaz ended up on the on the euthanasia list for July 31st.

RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society volunteers, Susan Blakeney, urgently requested our help for Chaz on July 30th. We immediately provided an offer to cover his heartworm treatment costs as an incentive for a rescue to take him. And just in time, All 4 Paws Rescue in Pennsylvania agreed to take Chaz!

Chaz has now received his heartworm treatment. Susan had this to tell us about Chaz: “He’s very snuggly, friendly and polite. Chaz adores hanging close by people, and really basks in receiving lots of attention. You’ll find that he’s very good at making you feel calm and relaxed!” To view more photos of Chaz, click here.

RADAR paid all $188 of the heartworm treatment costs for Chaz.
