Christopher traded in one crisis for another! He was found roaming the streets by a good samaritan on April 11th. On April 12th, Christopher was surrendered to the Lee County Animal Shelter in South Carolina. Unfortunately, the shelter was overcapacity and he tested positive for heartworms. Christopher needed help and fast! Christopher, a two to three-year-old mixed breed, was receiving no interest from rescues or adopters. Being heartworm positive meant finding safe passage out of the shelter would be all the more challenging.
Brandi Sowell, RADAR’s liaison with the Lee County Animal Shelter, asked us for help with Christopher on July 5th. Home At Last Dog Rescue in Pennsylvania agreed to take Christopher if we could assist with his heartworm treatment costs. We agreed, and Christopher received his heartworm treatment on July 7th.
Here is what a shelter volunteer had to say about Christopher: “He’s a big guy and so full of life! He is one of the silliest and happiest boys you’ll ever meet. He’s always excited to meet new people and friends. I can’t wait to see him in his furever home!” Click here to view more photos of Christopher.
RADAR paid all of Christopher’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $249.
Please help us cover our costs of helping Christopher by contributing to his Fund today!
