Mercy me! It’s Cici! This two-year-old Rottweiler mix arrived at the Franklin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina in early August. Not only was she heartworm positive, but she was also very pregnant! Cici needed to get out of the shelter ASAP. Laura Roberts and her Road Home Rescue in North Carolina acted quickly to find a rescue interested in taking Cici, but funds were needed for her heartworm treatment costs.

On August 5th, Laura asked for RADAR’s help for Cici. We agreed to assist and Susan Nardizzi and her Ruff Rehab Rescue in New Jersey agreed to take Cici! She was transported to New Jersey, and just in time to give birth to her seven puppies on August 16th. Although one died at birth, the other six were all healthy and have since been adopted. After weaning her pups, Cici received her heartworm treatment on December 3rd and 4th.

Susan shared this with us this about Cici: ” She’s very sweet and happy! She loves attention from anyone. She’s good with kids. Her pups were all super friendly and well-adjusted too.” Click here to view more photos of Cici.

RADAR paid $250 towards Cici’s heartworm treatment costs.

UPDATE! All funds for Cici have been raised! Thank you!
