Claire was found running on a busy road in Kentucky. Where she was going we don’t know, but fortunately a passerby picked her up before she was hit and took her to the Ohio County Animal Shelter in Kentucky on June 1st. No one came to claim this sweet three-year-old Beagle mix. Claire tested positive for heartworms and that ruled out a quick adoption or rescue for her.
On June 20th, Julia Altman of Greenmore Farm Animal Rescue in Pennsylvania asked for RADAR’s help with the cost of Claire’s heartworm treatment so that the rescue could take her. We committed to Claire, and she had her back-to-back heartworm treatments on July 5th and 6th.
“Claire is a Love Bug!” the rescue told us. “She is good with other dogs and with children. Claire is a calm, sweet girl. She walks wonderfully on a leash and is crate-trained! Claire loves attention and wiggles and makes the cutest noises! She is friendly with medium energy and small at twenty-seven pounds. Claire is just precious and will be such a wonderful companion!” Be sure to view more photos in Claire’s gallery.
RADAR paid all of Claire’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $250.
UPDATE! All funds for Claire have been raised! Thank you!
While RADAR is no longer asking for donations for our nonprofit, we ask that you check out some of our rescue partners and make a donation to one or more of them.
