Cute Cotton, twice abandoned, has been living a life in limbo. Late last March, this sweet Lab/Canaan mix found herself on death row at the Clayton County Animal Control shelter in Georgia, where she arrived as an abandoned dog.
Thanks to the efforts of volunteers, a West Coast rescue committed to take Cotton and Biscuit. They were both pulled from the shelter on April 1st, and taken to a facility for temporary boarding while they awaited transport to the rescue.
In what now seems like a cruel April Fools’ Day prank, that rescue failed to follow through on its commitment to take Cotton and Biscuit! Once more Cotton found herself abandoned, but at least this time she was safely in boarding. And that’s where both dogs have been since April 1st.
Lori Heath, RADAR’s volunteer Regional Coordinator in Georgia, requested our assistance in order to get the two dogs rescue ready. Both dogs needed initial vetting and spaying.
RADAR committed to covering the full cost of the initial vetting and spaying for Cotton and Biscuit, which was done September 27th. Much to everyone’s relief, both dogs are heartworm negative. Click here for additional photos of Cotton.
RADAR paid the full $126 cost of Cotton’s vetting and spaying.
