Jiminy Cricket! This little one-year-old Rat Terrier mix was surrendered by her owner to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on March 1st. Her owner said Cricket just had too much energy, but Miss Cricket had no idea why she was at the shelter. And little did Cricket realize what a serious situation of life or death she was in.
With time running out, and thanks to the efforts of the volunteers with the Darlington County Humane Society, a rescue spoke up for Cricket! Caring for Creatures in Virginia agreed to take Cricket if her initial vetting bill and spaying costs could be covered. Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society volunteers, sought our assistance, and we agreed. Cricket has had her initial vetting and spaying done. She tested negative for heartworm! Cricket has a ticket for an April 6th transport to Caring for Creatures.
Susan shared this with us about Cricket: “She is very playful and interactive with both people and other dogs. Cricket has a sweet personality. There is a lot to really love about this petitie little lady!” Click here to view more photos of Cricket (taken by Susan).
RADAR paid all of Cricket’s initial vetting and spaying bill of $91.
