Daisey and Zoe, both two-year-old Bully Breed mixes, were surrendered by their owner to the Surry County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on July 7th. Unlike strays, there is no hold period for owner surrenders. With this small kill shelter already overflowing, Daisey and Zoe could be could be euthanized at any time. Amazingly enough, both dogs tested heartworm negative.
Mayberry 4 Paws in North Carolina is an organization that helps facilitate and find rescues for the at-risk dogs at this shelter. They urgently sought RADAR’s help for Daisey and Zoe. To encourage a rescue to take both dogs, we immediately provided offers to assist with their vetting costs. And it worked! The rescue Nadias Haven of Hope Foundation in North Carolina agreed to take both Daisey and Zoe! On July 21st they each their initial vetting and spaying done.
“We think Daisey may be closer to four or five years old,” the rescue shared with us, “but she’s so beautiful it doesn’t matter. She’s still relatively young. Daisey and Zoe are kid friendly. We are so happy for them and blessed to have a fabulous foster for both of them. Thanks to RADAR’s help, we were able to help four dogs in need.” Her foster says that Daisey is “very friendly and loving, and loves kids of all ages!” Click here to see more photos of Daisey.
RADAR paid $150 towards Daisey’s initial vetting and spaying costs.
