Daisy is finally receiving the care and affection she needs in order to blossom into a healthy, kind and beautiful girl. Lost and confused, this three-year-old Shepherd mix was picked up as a stray and brought to the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on June 10th. Daisy’s spirit began to wilt and her head drooped just a bit when the shelter staff shared that she had heartworms.
Ruby’s Misfits Animal Rescue in North Carolina was interested in rescuing Daisy and contacted RADAR for assistance with the costs of her heartworm treatment. With an agreement to support Daisy’s heartworm treatment, she was pulled from the shelter on June 13th to stay with a foster family. She immediately perked up knowing her life was turning around. Daisy started her heartworm medication on June 20th.
Daisy is calm and loving and enjoys the company of children, providing them with gentle kisses in greeting. She is happy just laying in the yard enjoying the breeze while her people are gardening or relaxing. Daisy is still a little surprised to be fed and loved daily, and with the help of her foster family, she is starting to understand that her life on the streets is a thing of the past. RADAR paid all of Daisy’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $250.
