Imagine Dale at the shelter, dreaming of Dale Evans and Roy Rogers singing “Happy Trails” to him! Four years old and a Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, Dale entered the Chesterfield County Animal Services shelter in South Carolina on May 15th. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owners. As a Hound mix in a rural shelter, there was not much hope of Dale seeing any happy trails anytime soon. But when he tested heartworm positive, the trail seemed to turn into a dead end.

On June 4th the shelter requested RADAR’s help with Dale. We agreed to provide an offer to assist with his heartworm treatment costs as an incentive for a rescue to take him. And it worked! Home At Last Dog Rescue in Pennsylvania agreed to take Dale. He had his heartworm treatment done on June 30th and July 1st.

Dale was described as being very sweet and laid-back. He has an outgoing personality and is animal friendly. Dale loves other dogs and likes to play. He’s ready for the reality of those happy trails! Click here to view more photos of Dale.

RADAR paid $250 towards Dale’s heartworm treatment costs.
