Darling

Darling so hopes to be someone’s permanent darling! Originally a stray intake at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on October 24th, this two-year-old Bully Breed-Labrador Retriever mix had been adopted twice at the shelter and returned both times through no fault of her own. She needed a home with space and activity to be at her best, but both previous times she had been adopted by folks who lived in apartments, which was not the best environment for such an active dog. Would Darling be able to find the right home?

On May 16th,  Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, asked for RADAR’s help with paying the shelter’s pull fees. Caring For Creatures in Virginia had rescued Darlings brother Remy, and now needed assistance with Darling’s fees so she could be rescued too. We agreed to pay Darling’s fees and she left for the rescue on May 30th.

Susan told us this about Darling: “Your own personal cheerleader, Darling is such a vibrant, joyful lady with her book wide open and ready for that next, new, exciting experience. She had the best time running and playing and burning off some energy when released into one of shelter’s exercise pens. A skilled hugger and kisser, this very affectionate lady loves giving and receiving attention and would be delighted to have slightly older children to care for. Darling never meets a stranger (feels everyone is her new best friend), so she can be a little forward in meeting some dogs, but it’s all in good faith and with the end result of finding a playmate. Darling dives in feet first and makes the most out of every minute of the day. She’s hoping to hang by your side soon, so as a couple, you can go on one big grand adventure, together!” Be sure to view more photos in Darling’s gallery.

RADAR paid all of Darling’s pull fees, including her vaccinations, testing and spaying costs, which totaled $215.
