Delilah was reportedly wandering around a country road for several months prior to being captured by animal control and admitted to the Lee County Animal Shelter in South Carolina on March 30th as a stray.  The five to six-year-old, 60-pound German Shepherd tested positive for heartworms, which would make her safe passage out of the shelter all the more challenging.

Brandi Sowell, RADAR’s liaison with the Lee County Animal Shelter, asked us for help with Delilah on April 11th. Puppy Paws Rescue in Maryland agreed to take her if we could assist with her heartworm treatment costs. We agreed, and Delilah began her heartworm treatment on April 30th.

“Delilah is incredibly gentle and sweet,” Brandi told us. “She’s very submissive with both people and dogs. She’s a wonderful girl!” Click here to view more photos of Delilah.

RADAR paid $250 towards Delilah’s heartworm treatment costs.
