Demi and Delaney not only have similar stories, but are also best buds! Like Delaney, Demi is also a four-year-old Chow Chow mix. Demi had been seen running loose as a stray for a long time, but kept eluding animal control. But that ended on January 26th when she was finally caught and taken to the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission (JARM) shelter in Jasper County, South Carolina. She was very timid when she arrived, but when Delaney showed up on February 9th, the two became kennel mates and helped each other gain confidence and trust. Not surprisingly, both dogs tested heartworm positive.

Erin Padgitt with One Love Animal Rescue in Georgia, reached out to RADAR about Demi and Delaney (and five other dogs!) on March 29th. If we could help with their heartworm treatment costs, the rescue would pull Demi and Delaney (and the other five). Relying on our dedicated supporters, we agreed to help them all!

Demi had her heartworm treatment done on April 25th. “Demi went from very timid to very confident and social,” Erin told us. “She is now eager to meet new people and new dog friends. Demi is a mellow girl who likes to take leisurely walks or hang out on the sofa!” To see more photos of Demi, click here.

RADAR paid all $218 of the heartworm treatment costs for Demi.
