Dino is dino-mite! This four-year-old Lab mix was turned in as an owner surrender to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on October 2nd. His owners were moving and couldn’t take him with them. They said he gets along with other dogs and cats, and he loves children. An otherwise great dog, Dino had the misfortune of testing positive for heartworms, which greatly limited his rescue options.

On October 24th, Every Dog’s Dream Rescue in New York offered to take Dino if his heartworm treatment could be provided. Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, turned to us for help. Thanks to our loyal supporters, we were able to commit to assist. He had his heartworm treatment done on November 6th.

“Dino is such a nice guy that, honestly, he was just being overlooked at the shelter for weeks,” Susan told us. “He’s great with everyone, causes no problems and has been patiently waiting for his turn to be selected to head out the front gates. Well, the good news is that thanks to RADAR’s help, he’s now on the fast track for a new life!” Click here to view more photos of Dino.

RADAR paid all of Dino’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $348.
