Drake, a three-year-old Bully Breed mix, got rid of his heartache in the best way! He was picked up as a stray and brought to the Clarendon County Animal Control shelter in South Carolina way back on November 19th, 2019! Despite his handsome black-and-white-spotted coat and great personality, he was passed over and Drake tried to be patient while time passed. His heartworm positive status and the expense of treating his heartworms, as well as his often defamed breed, were obstacles to rescue.

Anna Cilento, founder of Suruluna Animal Rescue in New York requested help for Drake’s heartworm treatment costs on June 25th. If we could assist, Anna would pull this deserving dog. We committed to help with Drake. He had testing and x-rays done on July 31st to ensure he was healthy enough for the demanding regimen. Drake then had his back-to-back heartworm treatments on August 1st and 2nd.

Drake’s friendliness and sweetness soon caught the attention of an adopter! We are happy to report that Drake is now in his forever home, recovering from his treatment and ready for his happy new life! Be sure to view more photos in Drake’s gallery.

RADAR paid all of Drake’s testing, x-ray and heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $341.
