Poor Elliott not only had to endure a double dose of loss, but also had his life on the line. This one-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier – Labrador Retriever mix, along with his canine best buddy, arrived at the high-kill Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Kentucky in October. Their owner was moving, and could not take the two dogs along.
It was bad enough that Elliott lost his home, but then his buddy got adopted, leaving Elliott all alone. Even though he had to deal with so much loss, Elliott maintained his positive attitude through it all. Despite his charming personality, no one adopted Elliott.
Facing euthanasia, Elliott needed to be pulled ASAP. The volunteers with the Bourbon County Rescue in Kentucky asked RADAR if we could assist them with vet costs if they took Elliott. We immediately agreed. Elliott was safe! Click here to see more photos of Elliott.
The rescue’s volunteers personally paid for Elliott’s initial vetting. He is healthy, and tested heartworm negative. Elliott is now in foster care, awaiting his neutering.
RADAR has committed to cover the $39 cost of Elliott’s upcoming neutering.
