Instead of being “All About Eve,” this is all about Evie! The two to three-year-old Labrador Retriever mix was picked up as a stray on February 1st and taken to the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission (JARM) shelter in Jasper County, South Carolina. No one ever came to claim her. She also received no rescue or adopter interest. Being a black dog and heartworm positive made her all the more at risk.

Erin Padgitt with One Love Animal Rescue in Georgia contacted RADAR about Evie on March 29th. The rescue was interested in taking her, along with six other heartworm positive dogs at JARM, but needed help with the heartworm treatment costs. We agreed to help Evie (and the other six dogs). Evie had her heartworm treatment done on April 25th.

“Evie is a confident girl and makes friends easily,” Erin told us. “She loves to snuggle with her human pals and also enjoys playing with other dogs. ‎Evie is as mellow as can be. She is happy to chill in her favorite chair while sunbathing. She is an easygoing and friendly girl who would make a great family dog!” Click here to view more photos of Evie.

RADAR paid all of Evie’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $218.
