Presenting Evie: the dog, the problem and the solution.

The dog. Evie is a six-year-old Lab mix. She is described as being a very sweet, loving dog. Even though she was a little bit nervous at the shelter, it was clear that Evie is one tough gal. To see more photos of Evie, click here.

The problem. Evie was brought in as a stray to the Columbus County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on August 20th. While she was being prepped for her spay, a bullet wound was found in her abdomen. Thankfully, she had the bullet—as well as three botflies—removed. But Evie still had a big problem: she was heartworm positive.

The Solution. On September 4th, shelter advocate Madi Joselyn requested RADAR’s help with Evie’s heartworm treatment costs on behalf of the Burlington County Animal Alliance in New Jersey. We agreed to assist, and she was safe! Evie received her treatment on October 4th and 5th.

RADAR paid all $343 of the heartworm treatment costs for Evie.
