You gotta have Faith! A three to four-year-old Mountain Cur mix, Faith was picked up by animal control. She arrived at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on July 7th. Despite her charming ways, she had no adopter or rescue interest. The combination of being a black brindle dog and heartworm positive put Faith’s life in grave danger.
On August 20th, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, Susan Blakeney, contacted us with an all-too-familiar request: Faith had rescue interest, but only if her heartworm treatment costs could be covered. Having faith in our supporters enabled us to commit to assist with Faith, which sealed the deal for One Life to Live Pet Rescue and Adoption in Pennsylvania to take Faith! She received her heartworm treatment on September 10th.
We had this report on Faith from the shelter: “She’s a playful and interactive lap-lover! While she seemed a bit reserved in her kennel run, once she was out in the open on her walk, Faith morphed into a social butterfly. She eagerly greeted humans and doggie friends alike. Her tail kept up a steady beat as she explored new places, stopping along the way to share a kiss or two with her walkers. Faith is an energetic young lady who gets along well with other dogs. She is very curious about the cats, but she may just want to play with them. Faith is fun plus!” To see more photos of Faith, click here.
RADAR paid all of the heartworm treatment costs for Faith, totaling $217.
UPDATE! All funds for Faith have been raised! Thank you!
UPDATE! Faith has been adopted! Her new name is Ruby!
