Faith says that you “Gotta Have Faith,” as the song “Faith” by George Michael goes. This stunning two- to three-year-old German Shepherd mix arrived at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina as a stray on February 14th. A kind man had kept her for four days as he looked for her owner but couldn’t find anyone who would claim her. This very nice and otherwise adoptable dog had a costly health issue: she was heartworm positive.

One Life to Live Rescue and Adoption in Pennsylvania wanted to take Faith into their rescue if her heartworm treatment costs were taken care of. On February 22nd, Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, requested our help. We could not resist Faith’s furry beauty and agreed to help that same day. Faith completed her heartworm treatment on March 19th.

Susan described Faith as a nice, calm girl. “She’s an easy walker and does not pull. I took her out to the exercise area and she ran around a bit, but preferred to get petted. She is very affectionate and sweet.” Click here to view more photos of Faith.

RADAR paid all of Faith’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $278.
