Fawn deserves a family that will fawn over her! This two to three-year-old Bully Breed mix ended up at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on October 31st after her previous owner could no longer care for her due to health problems. At the shelter, she relished every moment that she got to spend outside of her pen, and she even managed to make some friends. While she enjoyed those moments, what she really needed was someone to rescue or adopt her. Sadly, there was one problem: she was heartworm positive.
On March 16th, Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, contacted RADAR to see if we could help with Fawn. One Life to Live Rescue and Adoption in Pennsylvania spoke up for her, but she still needed to be treated for heartworms. We agreed to assist, and she was safe! She got her treatment on April 3rd.
“Fawn aims to please with her low-key, calm approach to life,” we were told. “Very, very attentive to her person, Fawn is a gentle-natured lady who just loves having any amount of attention. Never pushing in asking for a few body rubs, she gratefully accepts whatever lovin’ comes her way. Fawn is a such a pleasant dog to hang out with. She will teach you to take the time to slow down and smell the roses and dote on your loved ones.” Click here to view more photos of Fawn.
RADAR paid all of Fawn’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $185.
