Faye says okay to the idea that now it is time for her to have someone take good care of her for a change. A two- to three-year-old Bully Breed-Boxer mix, this cuddly and wiggly mama arrived at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina along with her three older puppies on March 18th. As a stray her past is a mystery but what is clear about her mysterious past is that she didn’t receive the needed heartworm preventative in this hot and humid area. Faye hoped for a rescue to take her and her little family but with her breed and heartworm positive status, that rescue would need some extra assistance to pay for her heartworm treatment.
To Love A Canine Rescue in Pennsylvania took Faye’s puppies, and now wanted to take Faye as well, but needed that extra boost that financial help from RADAR could provide to treat Faye’s heartworms. So Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society, asked RADAR to help Faye on April 8th and we agreed to help. Faye completed her heartworm treatment on April 21st.
Susan tells us that Faye would make a good companion for anyone. “An excellent ball chaser, leash-walker, and snuggler, Faye would be a great addition to any family. Faye is sure to win anyone’s heart within minutes with her cute underbite and friendly, calm and confident disposition. She needs a fenced yard to run and play, but she settles down quickly when she finds your lap. She greets other male and female dogs politely and plays nicely with others. Faye melts in your arms and wishes for someone to cuddle and care for her.” Be sure to view more photos in Faye’s gallery.
RADAR paid all of Faye’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $290.
