It’s time for the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Bark Twain! This two to four-year-old Terrier mix was found as a stray lingering around a lady’s house. She called animal control on September 28th and Finn was taken to the Surry County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina. Little Finn was a bit shy, but friendly with both people and dogs. Unfortunately, he tested heartworm positive.
On October 4th, RADAR received a request for help with Finn from Mayberry 4 Paws in North Carolina, an organization that helps facilitate and find rescues for the at-risk dogs at this shelter. The shelter was overflowing and Finn’s life was at risk at this small rural shelter. With RADAR’s help, Mayberry 4 Paws would pull Finn. We agreed to assist with his heartworm treatment costs. Finn had his heartworm treatment done on October 13th.
Mayberry 4 Paws told us this: “Finn is doing great in his temporary foster home. He crates well. He is so affectionate and cuddly. His favorite thing to do is to find a fresh, warm pile of laundry and to root around in it, eventually knocking it all on the ground! He absolutely loves everyone: kids, other dogs and cats! He does, however, have a penchant for chasing chickens!” To see more photos of Finn, click here.
RADAR paid all $150 of the heartworm treatment costs for Finn.
