Flash was in need of a stash of cash! This two-year-old Hound mix was admitted to the Allendale County Animal Shelter in South Carolina May 18th. Flash and another dog had been abandoned by their owner and were picked up by animal control. When Flash tested positive for heartworms, his only way out of the shelter would require that stash of cash for his treatment costs.

Even though everyone was cash-strapped, Mary Lou Seymour and the dedicated folks with Shelter Animals Advocates and its Heart Beat Goes On program were not going to treat Flash like trash for a lack of cash. When Dog Star Rescue in Connecticut expressed interest in taking Flash, all that was needed was funding for his heartworm treatment costs. Mary Lou quickly reached out to RADAR for help, and we agreed to assist.

On June 17th, Flash had his heartworm treatment done. December Clark, also with Shelter Animals Advocates and The Heart Beat Goes On, told us that Flash is a little dog with a BIG bark! He just wants to be loved and given lots of attention! Click here to view more photos of Flash.

RADAR paid all of Flash’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $321.
