By George, it’s George! This handsome three-year-old Lab mix and his brother came into hard times after their owner passed away. Since no family was able to take either of them, they both ended up at the Hampton County Animal Shelter in South Carolina on August 3rd. A rescue took George’s brother, but sadly, they didn’t take George. To top it all off, George was heartworm positive, which lessened his chances of being rescued or adopted.
On August 24th, Mary Lou Seymour of Shelter Animals Advocates and its HeartBeat Goes On program requested RADAR’s help for George. Dog Star Rescue in Connecticut came forward to take him if his heartworm treatment costs could be covered. We agreed to assist. He received his heartworm treatment on September 7th and 8th.
“George is absolutely one of the nicest dogs around!” said December Clark, Mary Lou’s partner with Shelter Animal Advocates and The HeartBeat Goes On program. “He’s super easy to care for and potty trained as well!” Click here to view more photos of George.
RADAR paid all of George’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $365.
