Glamorous Glimmer was going for greatness when she set off on her own to find new adventures. During her search, this two-year-old Beagle mix lost her way, and was picked up by a park ranger. She was taken to the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS) shelter in Bamberg County, South Carolina on November 4th. All of Glimmer’s adventures had left her with a couple unwanted souvenirs, including evidence of a break at the end of her tail, and heartworm disease.

There was a glimmer of hope for Glimmer, though. On November 26th, Ruthie Rish with MAMAS reached out to RADAR and asked if we could help. “She’s just 26 lbs., so should be highly adoptable,” Ruthie said. “We have a rescue for her, but she needs to get treated for her heartworms before she leaves this weekend.” We agreed to assist with the costs, and Glimmer got her treatment on the very same day! She was ready to begin a new journey to Lighthouse Animal Shelter in Massachusetts.

Ruthie told us that Glimmer is an adorable sweetheart who is very affectionate. She gets along well with other dogs, and will make a great family dog. Most importantly, Glimmer will make a great companion to share in life’s many adventures with! She also made quite the impression on her transporters! Linda provided a place for Glimmer to overnight during her transport to rescue. Linda shared this, “Glimmer is good on a leash, immediately relaxes when you rub her belly, bathed herself like a cat and has a couple of extra toes for good measure! I’m in love with this girl. Someone is going to be very lucky.” To see more photos of Glimmer, click here.

RADAR paid all $210 of the heartworm treatment costs for Glimmer.

UPDATE! Glimmer has been adopted! Glimmer was adopted by a friend of her foster mom. We’ve been told that Glimmer’s forever mom has said that “everything is going great so far!”

UPDATE! All funds for Glimmer have been raised! Thank you!
