Amazing Grace, how sweet a dog; she once was lost, but now is found! She arrived as a stray at the Bartow County Animal Control shelter in northern Georgia on September 10th. With limited space, dogs at this shelter are only given one week to get out alive, and Grace’s week was up.
But this small two-year-old Terrier mix was so sweet and full of life, that she became the favorite among the shelter volunteers. Miraculously, she was granted an extra week after being passed over by rescues in her first week. However, this time there would be no extra week. She had until 4 p.m. on September 24th to be pulled by a rescue.
You Lucky Dog Rescue (YLDR) in Georgia had fosters available, but only enough funds to pull one dog. They were planning to take Daisy. But thanks to the efforts of RADAR’s Regional Coordinator in Georgia, Lori Heath, on September 23rd, RADAR committed to covering the initial vetting for Daisy. And this allowed Grace to be pulled by YLDR as well! Grace and Daisy’s kennels were across from each other, and they were able to leave the shelter together. Click here to see more photos of Grace.
Grace was so excited to get out of the shelter that she kissed anyone who would let her! On September 25th, Grace received her initial vetting. RADAR committed to cover this cost. Fortunately, she tested negative for heartworm. Grace is now safely and happily in her foster home.
RADAR has paid all of Grace’s $82 initial vetting costs.
