Presenting Gunner: the dog, the problem and the solution.

The dog. Gunner is an amazingly sweet and incredibly cute boy. He’s mild mannered and brings a smile to anyone’s face who meets him. He gets along with other dogs and even cats! Gunner is three to four years old and a Bully Breed mix, but with his small size, he’s more like a little Pocket Pittie! Click here to view more photos of Gunner.

The problem. Gunner wandered into the yard of a friend of one of the kennel staff at the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS) shelter in Bamberg County in South Carolina. While he was happy at this house and doing his best to be a good boy, this could not be his new home. He was taken to MAMAS on July 12th, where he tested heartworm positive.

The Solution. Ruthie Rish with MAMAS contacted RADAR about Gunner on July 17th. The folks at MAMAS wanted to get his heartworm treatment done so that he would be rescue ready. We agreed and he received his heartworm treatment on July 24th.

RADAR paid all of Gunner’s heartworm treatment costs, which totaled $190.
