Hailey

Hailey is a dog that someone is going to want to love on a daily basis! This one-year-old Border Collie mix was picked up as a stray and brought to the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina on March 25th. A pretty, black-furred gal with white speckles and freckles, Hailey was shy but her four-legged shelter friend Lewis helped her gain confidence. What her pal couldn’t help with was Hailey’s heartworm positive status. A rescue and some funding were needed to save Hailey.

On April 19th, Peppertree Rescue in New York who, with RADAR’s help for his heartworm costs, had committed to take Lewis a few days earlier, was now interested in pulling Hailey if her heartworm treatment costs could be covered. Susan Blakeney, RADAR’s liaison with the Darlington County Humane Society Rescue, contacted us to see if we could help Hailey as well. We agreed and she completed her heartworm treatment on May 5th.

Hailey is unsure of new situations at first, but she warms up quickly for belly rubs and attention. She is polite and submissive with other dogs. Hailey has low to medium energy, and weighing in at about 40 pounds, is a nice size for snuggling! Her sweet, unassuming and gentle temperament make her highly desirable for any family. Be sure to view more photos in Hailey’s gallery.

RADAR paid all $267 of the heartworm treatment costs for Hailey.
